"United for Ukraine" charity concert on 21st February 2024
Stars from Ukraine and Austria at the Wiener Stadthalle
On 21st February 2024, artists from Ukraine and Austria will perform in the Wiener Stadthalle to set a joint example for peace and humanity. The line-up includes ESC winner Jamala, Austrian singer Ina Regen and singer-songwriter Thorsteinn Einarsson.
Admission to this solidarity concert is free after booking a ticket in advance.
There will be a call for donations around the event, with the proceeds going to the aid organization "Nachbar in Not". The major event is supported by the Austrian federal government, the STRABAG construction group, Wien Holding, the Federation of Austrian Industries, Vienna Airport and the Ukrainian Sigmund Freud University.
Music stars for peace
The program in the Wiener Stadthalle is diverse and has something for almost every musical taste. Pop stars Tina Karol and Zlata Ognevich from Ukraine will delight the younger audience in particular with a firework display of pop songs. Song contest winner Jamala, who grew up on the Crimean peninsula, has been campaigning for peace in Ukraine in public performances since the beginning of the war. But Austrian artists are also making their voices heard here. The singer Ina Regen impresses with sensitive lyrics and enchants the audience with expressive songs. Also on board is singer and singer-songwriter Thorsteinn Einarsson, who comes from Rejkjavik and lives in Austria. In his young career, he has already released three top 10 albums in Austria and won an Amadeus Austrian Music Award. The Austrian contribution is completed by the successful bands Alle Achtung, King & Potter and the 23-year-old shooting star Anna-Sophie from southern Styria. She is now by far the most played pop musician on Austrian radio.
ORF will broadcast the concert one night before the anniversary of the start of the war on 23rd February 2024 at 10:45 pm on ORF 1.
