What a show!
With the new show A NEW DAY Holiday on Ice celebrates a spectacular anniversary!
From 17.01. to 28.01.2024 Holiday on Ice guest with a breathtaking show in the Wiener Stadthalle, because the most popular ice show in the world celebrates 80 years of Holiday on Ice!
A NEW DAY is the most artistically and technically elaborate show to date. What star director Francisco Negrin and his creative team conjure up on the big ice stage this time sets completely new standards:
The exciting production combines the best figure skating in the world with a dramatic and at the same time loving story. Together with breathtaking acrobatics and world-famous songs, A NEW DAY creates a magnificent work of art.
In the anniversary show, Aurora, a female creature from a colorless and joyless world, meets young Adam, who introduces her to the beauty of our colorful world. Hesitantly, she plucks up courage and ventures into a great adventure in which mysterious forces keep trying to pull her back into the past. A dramatic chase begins - and the audience is there live!
"A NEW DAY opens hearts and eyes to the unique gift of being allowed to live as a human being on this colorful world. I think now is just the right time to remind ourselves of that," says creative director Francisco Negrin.
Holiday on Ice - 80 years
When a small but ambitious hotel show celebrated its Holiday on Ice premiere in Toledo, Ohio, in 1943, no one had any idea that the spectacular show would make its triumphal march around the world. Since then, the brand has made a name for itself worldwide - the concept was and is simple, but brilliant: Holiday on Ice thrills with world-class figure skating, sensational stage designs, imaginative costumes, high-end stage technology and rousing music.
Costume designers from the Lido, the Milan Scala or Christian Dior, musicians like Phil Collins - only the best of the best have been creating for Holiday on Ice for decades. And in Austria, too, Holiday on Ice can look back on a long, successful history: fashion czar Rudolph Moshammer developed a diamond dress exclusively for the 60th anniversary of Holiday on Ice, pop queen Sarah Connor recorded two songs for Holiday on Ice and figure skaters such as Marika Kilius, Hans-Jürgen Bäumler, Katarina Witt and Tanja Szewczenko worked on the impressive shows of Holiday on Ice.
In the meantime, Holiday on Ice looks back after eight decades on more than 60,000 shows on five continents and over 330 million visitors worldwide. The new show A NEW DAY is another milestone in the 80-year history.
"Holiday on Ice enjoys an impressive international reputation and creates a new world on ice every year in collaboration with established creatives. Innovation is what drives us to delight a sophisticated generation of audiences", said Peter O'Keeffe, CEO Holiday on Ice.
