Accompanied by the MM Bigband under the musical direction of Thomas Kugi
Marianne Mendt is rightly regarded as the grande dame of the Austrian music scene. It was her who made the Viennese dialect socially acceptable in German-language pop music. Since Gerhard Bronner helped to her breakthrough in 1970 with the song "A Glock'n, die 24 Stunden läut", the "trade union-tested performance artist" has been regarded as a pioneer of Austropop and continues to be a highly respected role model for many young talents from the fields of jazz and pop.
And exactly the "Glock'n, die 24 Stunden läut" - in 2020 it will ring for 50 years with unchanged momentum - or better in English: "swing" - a drifty reason for the likeable singer and actress to gather in the legendary Wiener Stadthalle on the 26. September 2020 and celebrate this wonderful anniversary together with a selection of well-known companions.
Apropos: You don't want to hang it on the big bell - but by the way you will also find Birthday celebrated!
