All of Vienna in Banksy fever!
Due to unending demand, "The Mystery of Banksy - A Genius Mind" is extended for the last time until 16th April 2023!
With 1.4 million visitors in just two years, the exhibition "The Mystery of Bansky - A Genius Mind" is considered the most successful show about the graffiti superstar worldwide. In Austria alone, 200,000 fans celebrated the anonymous artist. In Vienna, almost 100,000 visitors have so far snatched up the coveted tickets to the exhibition. Due to the continuing demand, the organizers are now going into extension for the last time. The exhibition will be on view in Studio F of the Wiener Stadthalle until 16th April 2023.
The exhibition features a unique presentation of more than 150 works by the celebrated street art superstar: graffiti, photographs, sculptures, video installations and prints on various materials such as canvas, fabric, aluminum, forex and plexiglass have been reproduced and assembled especially for this special show.
"The Mystery of Banksy - A Genius Mind" gives visitors a comprehensive overview and insight into the complete works of the genius and exceptional artist in an elaborate and unique setting. True to Banksy's motto "Copyright is for losers ©TM", this homage and the works shown there are not authorized by the artist due to his anonymous status. While the originals are not all publicly accessible at the moment, the no less impressive reproductions can be marveled at in "The Mystery of Banksy - A Genius Mind".
Bilingual & barrier-free
Texts in German and English. The exhibition is wheelchair accessible.

Banksy is red-hot. In November 2022, several new objects confirmed by Banksy attracted attention and impressively document the artist's solidarity with the people of war-torn Ukraine.
Numerous Banksy works from previous years have now also found their way into commercial everyday life. His messages should reach everyone! His works are thought-provoking - yet they are always socially critical and highly political. And all of Austria appreciates that, as can be read impressively in the countless entries in the exhibition's guest book.
Who is Banksy?
When it comes to street art, there's no getting around him: Banksy, probably the most famous and also the most mysterious graffiti artist in the world. According to estimates, the 45-50-year-old Briton has successfully kept his identity a secret. His works, on the other hand, are conquering not only the streets internationally, but also the auction houses, and with great success: he is currently considered one of the most expensive artists of our time! Banksy is an underground fighter, hotel operator and without doubt the undisputed king of street art, a brilliant mind and star artist who touches people and speaks to them from the soul with his sometimes ironic, sometimes political, but always poetic works. When the city of Bristol asked its citizens in 2009 to vote on whether Banksy's works should be removed from the cityscape, 97 percent decided against it. A clear vote for his art. Banksy is a star far beyond the borders of the art market. Back in 2010, Time Magazine put him on its list of the 100 most influential people in the world for the first time, alongside personalities such as Barack Obama, Steve Jobs and Lady Gaga.
To this day, no one knows who Banksy is or what his real name is, but everyone knows his pictures, which appear overnight on the walls of cities everywhere and sometimes make provocative comments on world events. In the meantime, the phantom of the art world has long since written art history. Millions of people, including those with less of an affinity for art in the classical sense, know and admire his motifs. It is especially his most recent works, such as the painting "Game Changer" dedicated to the hospital staff in Southampton or his guerrilla action with the rats in the London Underground, which have become famous worldwide, that have recently made him increasingly popular. Many of his pictures have also found their way into commercial everyday life.
