Elvis Aaron Presley, born on January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi, became the most influential figure in 20th-century rock and pop culture during his unparalleled career. The year 1956 is widely regarded as the birth of the “King of Rock ’n’ Roll,” marked by Presley’s first hit single, “Heartbreak Hotel,” and his debut album, “Elvis Presley.”
Presley gave his final concert in June 1977. Only a short time later, on August 16, he officially passed away from sudden cardiac arrest at his Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee.
