The film music of Oscar-winner Howard Shore performed live to the full original version of the first part of the “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy – by symphony orchestra, choir, and soloists, accompanied by large-scale projection and over 200 performers!

In 2001, The Lord of the Rings finally hit cinemas in a breathtaking adaptation – the largest and most elaborate film production of all time. Composer Howard Shore created a fully orchestrated, Oscar- and Grammy-winning musical masterpiece to accompany the story, using emotionally rich and intricately interwoven themes that assign distinct motifs to each culture of Middle-earth. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring with live music and large-screen projection has celebrated phenomenal success in recent years with numerous sold-out performances. The film’s original soundtrack is played with the music removed to preserve the authentic cinema sound. The fact that the music is performed live by over 200 musicians heightens the goosebump-inducing experience. Projected on a specially installed giant screen, one of the most successful film adaptations in cinema history becomes a multimedia event whose emotional impact culminates in the magnificent live music—an experience no one can resist.

“Lord of the Rings – In Concert Live to Film” was developed in direct collaboration with composer Howard Shore and is the only production authorized by him. It is particularly notable for its use of the extraordinary instrumentation found in his original film score.
