The Erste Bank Open in the Wiener Stadthalle is the annual tennis highlight on the domestic sports calendar. Since 1974, stars from Andre Agassi to Thomas Muster, Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev have gathered in Vienna.

US Open stars in Vienna: Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev and Frances Tiafoe will also play at the Erste Bank Open!

Karen Khachanov, currently ranked number one in the world, will also take part in the domestic tennis highlight. Defending champion Daniil Medvedev (ATP rank 3), Jannik Sinner (ATP rank 6) and Alexander Zverev (ATP rank 12) have already announced their participation in the Erste Bank Open at the end of June.

From October 21 to 29, 2023, the eyes of sports fans will then be on the Erste Bank Open. The fact that this year in the Vienna Stadthalle and at Erste Bank Open 2 Go on the grounds of the Vienna Ice Skating Club on Heumarkt, a great tennis spectacle is guaranteed again, ensures a terrific cast!

With the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP-7), the 2020 Vienna winner Andrey Rublev (ATP-8) and the charismatic US-American Frances Tiafoe (ATP-10), three more top ten stars have confirmed their participation in Vienna after defending champion Daniil Medvedev (ATP-3) and the Italian Jannik Sinner (ATP-6). 559,790 euro endowed ATP 500 tournament already with five aces from this select circle of the world rankings shines. Since Karen Khachanov (ATP-11) has also recently confirmed his start in Vienna, as did the German 2021 Vienna winner Alexander Zverev (ATP-12) some time ago, no fewer than seven of the currently twelve best tennis players in the ATP ranking will be serving in Vienna.

The trio of Tsitsipas, Rublev and Tiafoe has already proven that it is always good for tournament victories in the current season. Tsitsipas triumphed in Los Cabos (MEX), Rublev took the titles at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo and Bastad (SWE), and Tiafoe rejoiced over the victory trophies in Houston (USA) and at the BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart (GER). When the name Tiafoe is mentioned, memories of the Erste Bank Open 2021 also come to mind, when the US American stormed all the way to the final after successfully surviving the qualifying rounds, and on his way there he caused the audience to roar with enthusiasm. Back then, "Big Foe" repeatedly clapped with the spectators after spectacular point wins and also impressed the fans with his unbridled commitment.
