ERSTE BANK OPEN: TOP FIELD FIXED!

The Erste Bank Open in the Wiener Stadthalle is the annual tennis highlight on the domestic sports calendar. Since 1974, stars from Andre Agassi to Thomas Muster, Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev have gathered in Vienna.

From October 21 to 29, 2023, the eyes of sports fans will then be on the Erste Bank Open. The fact that this year in the Vienna Stadthalle and at Erste Bank Open 2 Go on the grounds of the Vienna Ice Skating Club on Heumarkt, a great tennis spectacle is guaranteed again, ensures a terrific cast!

12 Top 20 Stars in Vienna!

Spieler | Erste Bank Open | Tennis (erstebank-open.com)

No less than twelve top 20 stars have registered for the Erste Bank Open. This means that it is already certain that there will be absolute top matches from the first round onwards. Even the eight top-seeded players cannot look forward to a walk-through in the first round in Vienna.

As a special treat, tennis fans in the Wiener Stadthalle can look forward to the Vienna premiere of US shooting star Ben Shelton, who recently reached the semi-finals at the US Open. Due to the top-class line-up of the Erste Bank Open, he could already meet US Open finalist and Vienna last year's winner Daniil Medvedev in the first round.

The field of participants features five top ten aces and no less than twelve stars from the circle of the 20 best tennis players in the world. With the US Open semi-finalist Ben Shelton, one of the hottest future stocks on the ATP Tour will be playing in Vienna for the first time this year.

To be among the eight seeded players of the Erste Bank Open, you currently need position 14 in the ATP Ranking! World number three and defending champion Daniil Medvedev leads the provisional seedings ahead of Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE/5), Andrey Rublev (6), Jannik Sinner (ITA/7), Alexander Zverev (GER/10), Frances Tiafoe (USA/11), Tommy Paul (USA/13) and Karen Khachanov (14). Behind them, Cameron Norrie (GBR/16), Lorenzo Musetti (ITA/18), Grigor Dimitrov (BUL/19) and Ben Shelton (USA/20) are four other top-20 stars. In addition, crowd favourite Gael Monfils (FRA) and Italian Matteo Berrettini will also serve in Vienna.
