Information on Compliance with the Accessibility Act

We strive to make our websites of Wiener Stadthalle at www.stadthalle.com and profile.stadthalle.com accessible in accordance with the current version of the Accessibility Act for the implementation of the European Accessibility Directive (RL 2019/882) on accessibility requirements for products and services.

In doing so, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.2 – have been followed as far as possible. In addition, with the help of the “easy2see” feature set, which was implemented by an external partner and developed in cooperation with the Austrian Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired (BSVÖ) several years ago, further barriers that may have arisen in terms of color contrasts and/or text sizes have been removed. Thus, the Wiener Stadthalle’s website is also available in alternative visual versions in accordance with the WCAG guidelines, to meet these requirements.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

  • Incompatibility with accessibility requirements:

PDF documents are available for download on the website that are not yet accessible. If you need assistance with non-accessible PDF documents, please contact info@stadthalle.com. In such cases, we will attempt to provide the content to you in a suitable manner as far as possible.
In some versions of screen reader software, there may be difficulties navigating the event search via keyboard control, if the software cannot access the search form that opens via the search icon.
Additionally, there may be usability barriers in the 3D time travel feature (https://www.stadthalle.com/de/geschichten/geschichte), which should be understood as a visual gimmick and only contains an excerpt from the Stadthalle’s history. To avoid disadvantage here, the full version with all past events and details is available in an accessible format at https://www.stadthalle.com/de/geschichten/zeitreise for all visitors on the Wiener Stadthalle’s website.

  • Disproportionate burden:

For economic and organizational reasons, it is currently not possible to make older PDF and Office documents (etc.) accessible.
The listed incompatibilities with accessibility requirements are continuously being addressed.
The website is currently not available in “Easy Language,” partly due to thematic constraints, and partly due to the event texts, which are binding for Wiener Stadthalle and provided by the respective organizers. A translation into Easy Language is in preparation, but no exact timeline can yet be given.

  • Content outside the scope of applicable legal provisions:

The website contains older documents and content that are not accessible. As these were published before 28 June 2025, they are exempt from the Accessibility Act and no comprehensive changes are currently planned.

The website contains documents and content from third parties that we have neither developed, funded, nor control. This concerns the “Online Shop,” which is operated via systems provided by WTS Wien Ticket Service GmbH, as well as the “Careers” section, which contains an embedded iFrame for job postings that is partly not yet accessible. No statement can be made regarding the compliance of these third-party contents with accessibility requirements, and they are therefore also exempt from the requirements of the Accessibility Act. However, Wiener Stadthalle Betriebsgesellschaft is in contact with all external partners to ensure the highest possible level of accessibility and to implement improvements in the future.
